TITLE:              COST ACCOUNTANT

 

ORGANIZATION UNIT: Transmission & Distribution APPLICABLE TO: Metropolitan St. Louis

 

DUTIES:

 

Under direct but not constant supervision, to perform a full range of work in connection with the accumulation, computation, and analysis of cost information related to work performance, operations performance and budgetary requirements in the various departments of the division. Also, as required, to serve as leader in assigning and reviewing the work of other employees. In this connection to perform details of work, such as:

 

Organize, accumulate, prepare, and maintain statistical data in a form usable for review and comparison.

 

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.

 

Collate cost information from accounting records and interpret results.

 

Make special studies of work performance, operations performance and cost results. Devise methods and procedures for better cost analysis and control.

 

Prepare reports, as assigned.

 

SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

For holding as confidential information related to personnel, wages, statistical data, and results of studies.

 

CONTACTS:

 

With employees of all levels in the Company, and occasionally with persons outside the Company as appropriate and necessary to the performance of the work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Must have a degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting or Business Administration. Courses must include a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester hours of accounting with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale.

 

Must have attained a minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale.


COST ACCOUNTANT - T & D (Continued)

The grade point average is computed by dividing grade points earned by the semester hours counted for educational requirements. In calculating the grade point average, grade points and semester hours received for courses repeated shall be excluded.

 

Successfully pass the Company's Accounting job knowledge test. The test may be taken a maximum of two times separated by a six-month period. This test will not be given to those candidates who are Certified Public Accountants.
