TITLE:                                      JUNIOR CONSTRUCTION DRAFTSMAN

ORGANIZATION UNIT: Energy Delivery Technical Services - Drafting

 

APPLICABLE TO:                  City and County

 

DUTIES:

 

Under immediate supervision, to do detail and copy drafting work; to assist in taking field measurements; and to do related work as required. In this connection to perform details of work, such as:

 

Make detail drawings from sketches furnished by others, such as conduit boxes, diagrams, hangers and supports, simple beams and reinforced pads and footings.

 

Change drawings to match marked prints or verbal instructions. Trace drawings, with or without changes. Make posters, signs, charts, maps and originals for slides.

 

Make schematics from full line diagrams, where operational knowledge is not required.

 

Assist in taking field measurements.

 

Cut stencils as required.

 

CONTACTS:

 

Occasionally with persons in other departments in connection with work performed. WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

When on field trips or assigned to a site, subject to the usual conditions existing in power plants, substations or other buildings, and subject to outdoor weather conditions.

 

HAZARDS:

 

When on field trips or assigned to a site, subject to those hazards incidental to visiting construction projects, power plants, substations and other buildings.

JUNIOR CONSTRUCTION DRAFTSMAN (Continued) QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Graduation from high school or the equivalent.

 

Satisfactory completion of 15 credit hours at an accredited university, college or junior college of study leading toward an Associate's Degree in engineering or engineering technology, with at least one course in CAD.
