TITLE:                              MAIL RECEIPTS TELLER ORGANIZATION UNIT: Treasury Technology Services

 

APPLICABLE:                     St. Louis

 

DUTIES:

 

Under direct but not constant supervision to view, edit and balance remittances from customers in preparation of the customer account posting process; review and correct payments rejected from processing system; research and locate customer account numbers, balance priority mail batches and recap for deposit; prepare batch controls; and, occasionally, assist in the preparation of statistical reports, do miscellaneous typing and perform other clerical work as assigned.

 

SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to meet strict time schedules.

 

For holding as confidential, cash handling procedures and information with respect to customers' payments.

 

For care in handling cash.

 

For proficient use of personal computer and 10-key adding machine. CONTACTS:

 

With supervisors or other employees of the Customer Accounts Departments in connection with cash receipts.

 

HAZARDS:

 

From armed holdup, with possible physical injury and emotional stress; potential exposure to biological hazards/substances from handling suspicious envelopes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High school graduation or the equivalent with course in keyboarding desirable. Must pass data entry test.

 

Ability to make good judgments in carrying out job assignments.

 

Should have a good speaking voice, be pleasant, courteous and tactful.
