TITLE: METER TEST CLERK

 

ORGANIZATION UNIT: Meter and Relay - Clerical APPLICABLE TO: City

 

 

DUTIES:

 

Under direct but not constant supervision, to relay-=instruc­tions. to men in field; to do clerical work of an intermediate grade of complexity, requiring the exercise of some independent judgment in connection with field testing of electrical meters and metering equipment. In this connection to perform details of work such as:

 

Relay instructions to field men as they call in and receive reports.

 

Route demand meter read sheets for demand chart collection.

 

Prepare demand meter repair orders when defects are reported or when cyclometer and watthour readings do not ggree.

 

Maintain follow-up and route test orders for meters scheduled for periodic or special test.

 

Check all periodic and special test reports and pre­pare meter change orders for foremen's approval. When required, make copy of test report for Inspec­tion Division of the Customer Business Department.

 

Check correctness of multipliers of constants. Summarize completed work and enter into log book. As required, prepare requisitions and work reports.

 

SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

For care in the interpretation of meter reports and in the preparation of meter orders.

 

For care in recording and using meter constants and similar data to insure proper billing.

 

For care in use of office equipment and supplies.

 

 


METER TEST CLERK (Continued) CONTACTS:

 

By telephone, with customers pertaining to demand meter connec­tions and meter test appointments.

 

By telephone, with employes in other divisions and departments regarding meter locations, test data, and constants.............

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Graduation from high school or the equivalent.

 

One year of experience as a Senior Meter Record Clerk.
