TITLE: PRINCIPAL CLERK- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION UNIT: Marketing Department
APPLICABLE TO: Office Division
DUTIES :
Under direct but not constant supervision to assist in directing and assigning work to the Sales office group; to be conversant with the clerical, telephonic and stenographic duties of the Office Division; to assist in training new and present employees; to assist in preparation of budgets, etc., for the Sales Department; to analyze accounts; to keep records and to prepare reports of a difficult and complex nature in accordance with standard sales and accounting practices of the Company; in the absence of the Assistant Office Manager or the Office Manager, be responsible for the work progress of the Sales Office group; and to perform related work as required. In this connection to assist in directing and to perform details of work such as:
Prepare periodical tabulations of data relating to service; promotional activities, commissions, budget and payroll, and summarize in prescribed report form.
As directed, prepare working schedules for the Sales Office group. Allocate payroll charge accounts for all Divisions of the Sales Department. Analyze and prepare estimates and actual budgets.
Prepare reports and calculate commissions, bonuses and prize awards, etc. during campaigns, contests, etc.
Do other clerical work as required including special mailings of a non-routine nature. SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
For holding as confidential personal and credit information obtained in connection with customers' orders, payroll and personnel information concerning Sales Department employees and departmental budget information.
For disbursement of operating fund in the absence of Payroll Clerk. For careful use of office equipment. CONTACTS:
Telephone and personal contacts with residential, commercial, industrial and steam customers, architects, contractors, builders, realtors,. dealers, distributors, etc.
Personal and telephone contacts with employees in the Sales, Distribution, Customer Business, Treasurer's and other departments of the Company.
High school graduation or the equivalent; with at least one course in managerial accounting and at least one course in financial accounting from an accredited university or college.
Should have supervisory ability and be patient, pleasant, courteous and tactful.
