Under general direction, exercising independent judgment to develop, promote and administer first aid, fire prevention, andgeneral safety programs and standards; to plan, develop and conductfire fighting schools, and other safety programs; to schedule attendance and instruct Company personnel in fire fighting techniques, respiration, emergency pole, resuscitation, etc.; totrain, direct and assign duties of fire school assistants; todevelop, write, design first aid programs and prepare instructionsand textbooks; to train and instruct first aid instructors; to evaluate all first aid, all fire fighting and other safety equipment; to be responsible for the investigation of accidents andfires; to present results and recommendations to engineeringdepartment, department heads, superintendents, and first aidinstructors in relation to fire prevention, surveys, first aid andother related safety problems and practices. In this connection,as assigned to perform or be responsible for the performance of the following:'
Design, present and assist in the implementation of Company safety policies, programs, plans, procedures and standards.
Review drawings and plans of new plants, substations,buildings, etc., for adequacy of fire protection, forprotection of facilities and personnel to insure properadherence to safety practices and policies; to evaluate,recommend or report appropriate corrective action.
Instruct employees in how to inspect, maintain and recharge fire fighting equipment.
Develop and present first aid, fire control and prevention talks and demonstrations for safety meetings, various fire departments and civic and service organizations.
Implement various incentive award programs and any fireand first aid programs, personal protective equipmentprograms, motor vehicle safety programs, and employee safety training and education programs.

SAFETY COORDINATOR-NUCLEAR
Present safety educational or training programs, utilizing audio-visual equipment, slides, film strips, etc.
Prepare or obtain and disseminate safety educational materials.
Prepare and maintain forms and reports required in administering the safety programs.
SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
For holding confidential all information obtained in connection with duties, and relating to Company business or personnel.
For accurate, comprehensive, and prompt preparation of accident reports and other data related to safety activities.
For using independent judgment in advising employees and supervision in matters of safety.
CONTACTS:
With personnel supervisors in scheduling of fire school and other safety program attendance.
Make recommendations for art and display work; arrange and coordinate delivery of safety displays to meetings and locations.
Work and coordinate with various department heads, superintendents, with civic and service organizations, Red Cross and medical advisors relating to first aid, and with fire departments regarding fire control and hazards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Subject to working irregular hours and exposure to all kinds of weather conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certificate in Industrial Management from an accredited college oruniversity or the equivalent including courses relating to accidentprevention; four (4) years experience in physical operations orsafety work at the Callaway Nuclear Plant; and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others.
